SPIRULINA SMOOTHIE BOWL

I'm a big fan of smoothies (as evidenced by my posts here, here, and here). Not only do I think they're a great snack or perfect treat for a hot summers day, but they're super filling when made correctly.

I've been loving this smoothie recently! I've always wanted to try spirulina, mostly because it's a beautiful color and I'm a sucker for deep greens (caused by chlorophyll - spirulina is a type of algae!), but it's also a superfood linked to a ton of benefits! I will say, though, that it does kind of have a fishy smell in the bag but I can't notice it at all (scent or taste) in the smoothie.

(Something that does not have a fishy taste or smell? Further Food Marine Collagen. 😉 I'd be remiss if I didn't share! It's the perfect option if you don't eat beef but still want the amazing benefits! Shop here for a 10% discount!)

I'm telling ya, this smoothie is the perfect way to start your day! It's packed with superfoods, healthy fats, fruits, veggies, and carbohydrates. Knowing that you've already had some of your required fruits and vegetables before you've even changed out of your pj's is a win. (Or you can totally take this smoothie on the go - more power to you!)

I had a roommate in college who always made beautiful smoothie bowls. I never mastered it... until now. The key is making a smoothie with the correct ingredients that still blend well, but are dense enough to support your toppings! ... like a frozen banana!

Another trick is to layer them carefully instead of dumping them all in the bowl at once. But like if you're hungry, you gotta do what you gotta do!

Enough rambling already! Here's the "recipe" for this breakfast that feels more like a treat/bowl of ice cream. Let me know if you make it, and enjoy!
