Admittedly, my pantry game is weak. I really tend to stick to produce + perishable foods (sorry to my wallet) because they're generally healthier.

Also, I don't really have a pantry. I have counter space, a cabinet above my toaster, and a 6-cube cubby in the corner of my kitchen.

Maybe someday I'll be able to have the walk-in pantry of my dreams, but I'd honestly rather have a farmhouse sink or a double oven or brick pizza oven or a faucet above my stove that makes filling pots way easier. 🤷🏼‍♀️

ANYWAY... here's what I always have in my "pantry" AKA everything I can see from my computer at the moment.

OATMEAL // I really love oatmeal. I love having it around because it's so easy to cook that even on days where I'm like "I have nothing to eat!" I know that it's not true because I have oatmeal! It's also a baking staple - I've put it in cookies, banana bread, muffins, and protein balls. 10/10 oatmeal, never change.

GLUTEN FREE PASTA // I always like to have some sort of pasta in the house because it's another one of those easy meals that only takes a few minutes to cook. I like to "splurge" and get gluten-free pasta (like brown rice or chickpea) because I don't eat pasta all that often. Also, this means I always have pasta sauce but I'm not sure if that counts as a pantry item or not? I just get the Aldi brand without sugar. Easy.

QUINOA // I touched on my quinoa obsession in this post, and the feelings remain the same. Always have this in my pantry.

HONEY // I prefer honey over syrup on pancakes and waffles, and I also love it to sweeten matcha lattes. Honey is also great to bake with as a sugar alternative! AND ALSO SAVE THE BEES!

CREAMY PEANUT BUTTER // #TeamCreamy forever. Peanut butter is a staple in my house. I get this natural peanut butter from Aldi because I don't mind that it has sugar in it. I like it on banana bread, waffles, apple slices, or for dinner with a glass of wine after a particularly long day.

OLIVE OIL // Again, not sure if this totally counts as a pantry item, but I always have olive oil in my house. I cook with it, marinate chicken in it, and use it on salads with my next pantry item...

BALSAMIC VINEGAR // I love the flavor of balsamic vinegar. Like olive oil, I use it a lot in cooking and for salad dressings. It's one of my favorite things to add at the very end of sauteeing veggies for a little bit of a tangy flavor. I also put a splash on baked green beans as they come out of the oven. (Thanks for the best recipe ever, Mom!)

WAVY CHIPS // I typically always have something salty in the pantry. Generally, it's a box of microwave popcorn (something about that butter 🤤) Right now, I have these wavy chips from Sprouts because if it's from Sprouts, it's healthy! Juuust kidding. I got these for the Super Bowl and to snack on throughout the week.

If you enjoy these posts, let me know! I can always talk about what's in my fridge, freezer, and grocery bag.
